Lawrence Ayers is director of EDIFY, a Christian consulting ministry which he founded, and is also active in both teaching and writing. For twenty-seven years he held several teaching and administrative positions within the Portland (Oregon) Public School system, including high school principal and Director of Instruction. He served for nine years as a trustee of Western Seminary (four of those years as board chairman) and later was president of that institution
